Terms of Use

Effective 2026-10-03 · Applies to the Skyhook Live wallpaper app (Windows and macOS; screensaver on Windows), its subscription, the videos it plays, and this website.

The short version

Skyhook Live is a free app that plays our daily videos of the Earth as your desktop wallpaper while you hold a subscription. You buy and manage the subscription through the store you installed the app from. The videos are for you to watch on your own devices, not to redistribute. They are a rendering, not a weather service.

Who we are

Skyhook Live ("Skyhook", "the app") is published by More Space Battles, Inc. ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

The app and the store's terms

You get the app from the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store. Your license to the app itself is the store's standard license — Microsoft's Standard Application License Terms on Windows, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement on macOS — and these terms add to it. Where the two conflict about the app license, the store's terms apply.

Subscription

• The app is free to install. Playing the daily videos requires a subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Both periods include the same features.
• The price, the billing period, and any free trial are shown in the store before you confirm the purchase. A free trial, where offered, is available once per store account.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and at the end of a free trial, until you cancel. Cancel at any time in your store account's subscription settings; the subscription then runs to the end of the period already paid for.
• All payment, billing, and refunds are handled by Microsoft or Apple under their own terms. We never receive your payment details and cannot issue refunds ourselves — ask the store you bought from.
• If a subscription lapses, the app stops playing and downloading videos until it is renewed. Nothing else on your computer is affected.
• If we change the price, the store will notify you beforehand as its rules require.

The videos

The videos are rendered by us from open Earth-observation data and delivered to the app over the internet. While you are subscribed, you may play them through the app on devices you own or control, for your own viewing. You may not:

• redistribute, sell, sublicense, or publicly rehost the video files;
• download them in bulk or by automated means other than the app;
• use them commercially — for example in advertising, in broadcast, or as public display signage — without our written permission (write to support@skyhook.live).

Sharing a screenshot or a short clip of your own desktop, with credit to Skyhook, is fine.

The underlying source data belongs to its publishers and is used under their licenses; see the data attributions. Everything else — the app, the renderings, the Skyhook name and icon — is ours, and these terms give you no rights in it beyond the use described here.

Not a weather or navigation service

The videos are a visual rendering. The clouds come from real observations and forecasts, but they are hours old by the time you see them, and the picture is processed for appearance. Do not rely on Skyhook for weather, navigation, safety, or any other decision.

Availability

We aim to publish a new video every day, but we do not guarantee any schedule, resolution, or uninterrupted service. A day's video may be late or missing; the app keeps playing the most recent one it has. Videos remain available to download for a limited time after publication. The app needs an internet connection to fetch new videos and to confirm your subscription, and playback requires a computer that meets the system requirements listed in the store. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service; if we discontinue it, we will stop selling new subscriptions and renewals first.

Privacy

Skyhook has no accounts and collects no personal information. The details are in the privacy policy.

Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the app, the videos, and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, More Space Battles, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from the use of or inability to use Skyhook. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling the app. We may end or suspend your right to use Skyhook if you break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer law of the place you live requires otherwise.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Continuing to use Skyhook after a change means you accept the new terms.
